A Squirrel & His Acorn

Looking out the window, I saw a cute, furry squirrel digging deep into the snow with determination. 1 inch, 2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches down with only a trace of his tail sticking out. He finally resurfaces, climbs up the fence line, leaps onto a low hanging tree branch and sits… there in his mouth is an acorn!!! I couldn’t believe it!… how did this lil’ stinker find an acorn that was not only buried in the ground from last Fall but compacted by layers of snow? After finishing his meal, he proceeded to find 2 more acorns in two different spots… Amazing!!!
Ahhh, the simple pleasures of life :)

It also reminds me of God’s promise to us, “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink… look at the birds of the air (in this case a squirrel), for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?... For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”               Matthew 6:25-34

What a great reminder that we do not have to worry about the circumstances that face us today or even those that may be there tomorrow – God is our ultimate provider and will sustain us… all we need to do is put our TRUST in Him … now that’s good news!!!

  1. Aint that the truh...God is so awesome and everyday he is sending us blessings and reminders of his exsistence for all those who seek him...its a great reminder to slow down in life and actually take in the small things in life..the world is moving too fast and many are missing what God puts out there for them to see. For example just this past week I was struggling on getting into a bible study. So I was at the gym meditating after reading some very enlightening things in the book Driven By Eternity by John Bevere...While meditating I was speaking to God on where to actually start my bible study walk- either at the church we attend every Sunday or another church that was a little farther away but I just LOVE the Pastor and his messages but never go just listen to him here and there through a radio station here in colorado 89.7 Grace FM...after moments of looking down I looked up and right in front of me stood a man with an 89.7 Grace FM t-shirt and red st.louis cardinals baseball cap(which Im originally from STL)..it was like BAM God so obviously gave methe answer I was looking for and I to knew it in my heart I wanted to attend that church bible study that I normally dont go to. I approached the man-told him I really think God placed him there for me at that moment...he then told me that him and his wife hosted bible studies at their home every tues. night-WOW. Wanting to be obedient to my heavenly father I went to Sat. service at that church last weekend and low and behold I heard ALEX- I turned around and there he was sitting right behind (out of tht big church we so happened to sit in rows next to each other). God is so awesome and I never want to forget the Grace he has bestowed upon us when he gave his onnly son Jesus Christ to bear the weight of our sins on the cross. "THe Lord is my light and salvation" psalm 27:1
